Carpenters face their own set of unique occupational hazards.
Back injury: the risk of pain and injury from working in awkward positions, performing repetitive task or lifting, can be avoided by using your legs when lifting and not using your back. Not using your legs puts major stress and pressure on you back and can do some damage.
Infections: Moulds, fungi and bacteria are major infections that you can get from working on a job site. To avoid infection on your body wear a dust mask and PPE clothing. This will limit infections and make sure you clean your hands whilst working and after work.
Eye damage: Eyes are a major risk and in the carpentry industry it is very easy to damage or lose your eyes. To limit the risk of eye damage wear safety goggles or glasses when cutting material so dust or particles can’t get into your eye.
